Alumni Celebration concert

For the annual Alumni Celebration concert, MSE invites a prominent young professional player to perform a concerto with the orchestra. In recent years our soloists have included alumni members such as Will Grigg, Jennen Ngiau Keng (Australian Chamber Orchestra) and Melinda Watzel (Komische Oper Berlin). Other renowned soloists who have performed with MSE include Sally Cooper (freelance violinist), Steve Newton (MSO), Marlena Ito (Berlin Philharmonic) and Minah Cho (Sydney University).

Upcoming concert

35th Anniversary concert - featuring Dindin and Dandan Wang

Rising star violinists Dindin and Dandan Wang and the Melbourne String Ensemble perform the Bach concertos for violin in A minor and E major, the much-loved Bach Double for two violins and the virtuosic Navarra by Sarasate. In this concert, we welcome back alumni to celebrate 35 years of glorious string music from the Melbourne String Ensemble and bid Dindin and Dandan farewell as they start a new chapter at the prestigious Curtis Institute in Philadelphia.

More than 40 alumni will be joining MSE on stage to perform Vaughan Williams's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. Please get in touch via the contact us page if you are interested!
