Last Friday, the Melbourne String Ensemble marked its 40th anniversary with a concert that lived up to every expectation - and then some.

Protecting our most valuable resource.On a warm evening in late November, MSE musicians and their families filled the hall for the ensemble's annual Concerto Concert — an evening built around two of our most accomplished young soloists and rounded out by every ensemble in the program.

Join us for MSE's Spring Fling, an informal chamber recital held at St Stephen's Church. This year's Spring Fling marks the debut performance of our newest ensemble, MSE Arietta, directed by Naomi Durston, alongside sets from MSE Prelude, Intermezzo and Chamber. A relaxed afternoon celebrating the individual hard work our chamber groups put in outside of regular rehearsals.

This winter, the Melbourne String Ensemble had the pleasure of hosting our friends from Junges Kammerorchester Stuttgart (JuKO) for a visit filled with rehearsals, collaboration, and the unmistakable joy of music-making across continents.

MSE’s most recent concert at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Richmond was a heartwarming celebration of dedication, progress, and musical joy. Families and friends gathered to hear the wonderful results of a term’s hard work, with performances spanning junior to advanced levels.
