MSE Masterclasses
Throughout the year, MSE invites prominent Australian and international musicians to come and work with our students. They provide expert tuition, expose students to professionals in the music industry and serve to inspire our young students. Guest artists such as Dale Barltrop (Concertmaster, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), Helfried Fister(Johann Fux Conservatory, Graz), Wilma Smith, Zoe Knighton (Flinders Quartet) and Natsuko Yoshimoto (Concertmaster, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra) give valuable feedback to students on solo repertoire and technical work.
Whenever I have worked with MSE, I have come away inspired, energised and full of new ideas. The musicians are insanely talented, hard-working, humble and most of all, they genuinely “get” how special this music is. Through the masterclass program, I have witnessed their ability for swift and impressive improvement and as the next generation of musician, they have me very excited about the future. Fintan’s comprehensive program is one of the best hidden gems of Melbourne’s music scene.
